Abstract

Natural disasters affect lives and property, devastating communities for extended periods. This paper shows how some knowledge based on experiences and progress of science biological, psychosocial and behavioural, are still helping us to understand the behaviour of the survivor. The ability to implement guidelines and aid operations, data and practices based on evidence and empirical studies in the field of disaster is an evolutionary process for professionals in this field.
