Manuscript submission

Updated on June, 2023

RPMESP receives manuscripts in Spanish and English, related to public health or experimental medicine, that have not been published partially or totally, and that have not been submitted simultaneously to other scientific journals. Manuscripts deposited in certified preprint servers are eligible to be evaluated for publication in RPMESP.

The corresponding author is responsible for the registration and submission of the documents.

Submit an article to RPMESP

1. If you are not registered, select the “Register” button in the upper right corner. Then you must fill out the form below.

2. If you are already registered, select the “Login” button and log in with your username and password.

3. Once you have logged in to your account, please follow the steps in our submission instructions to submit your manuscript.

Mandatory documentation

Mandatory documents must follow, in detail, the description that can be found in our “Instructions for Authors” section. The following documents must be submitted:

Sworn statement

The sworn statement includes the title of the manuscript, the type of article, ethical statements, authorship statement, funding statement, conflicts of interest statement, preprint statement, and the statement related to whether the manuscript has been previously published in a scientific event or is part of a thesis. We recommend reading each statement thoroughly. The document is available for download as an editable Microsoft Word file; however, the Sworn Statement must be in PDF format when submitted.

Important considerations

  • Mandatory documents must strictly follow our “Instructions for Authors”.
  • Make sure that the first section of the manuscript, called “First Page” is included in the file, otherwise the submission will not be accepted.
  • Submissions that do not include the mandatory documentation will not be accepted; if so, the corresponding author will be informed that the manuscript was not received.
  • All authors must be registered in the OJS system when entering metadata during the submission process; they must be in the same order in which they appear in the manuscript.
  • The ORCID of each author (verify if it is active) must be included in the OJS system. If the system reports the following error message: “The ORCID you have provided is invalid”, the ORCID number should be included only on the First page of the article.
  • Check the status of your submission through the OJS system by logging in with your username and password.
  • Each uploaded file should have a maximum size of 10 MB.
  • A unique identification code will be assigned to the manuscript during submission, which will be used throughout the editorial process.
  • The Sworn Statement must be properly completed and signed by the corresponding author. The document must be read thoroughly before being submitted. The submitted Sworn Statement must be in PDF format.
  • Authors affiliated with the INS of Peru must submit a scanned copy of the document certifying that their research and its possible publication is known to the General Director of their center or office.
  • If the research involves humans and/or animals (the types of articles that require ethical approval can be found in our Ethics section), the code or document of approval from an institutional research ethics committee must be attached. This should be specified in the Ethical Aspects subsection of the Materials and Methods section of the manuscript.
  • Observational and experimental research on tuberculosis or COVID-19, carried out in Peru, must be registered in the Health Research Projects platform (PRISA). The registration code must be included in the Materials and Methods section of the manuscript.
  • Peruvian clinical trials must be registered in the platform of the Peruvian Registry of Clinical Trials (REPEC). Clinical trials from other countries should be registered in one of the primary registries of the World Health Organization Registry Networkor registries approved by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors - ICMJE. In both cases, the registry code should be included in the Materials and Methods section of the manuscript.

NOTE - If you experience problems during the submission process, please contact us by email rpmesp@ins.gob.pe.
